Overview:

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is seeking a qualified Driver to ensure the timeous, effective, and cost-efficient transportation of goods and passengers. The ideal candidate must be reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining professional service delivery.

Responsibilities:

1. Pre-Trip Procedures

-Conduct vehicle inspections before each trip to ensure roadworthiness.

-Check fuel levels, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition.

-Report any defects or maintenance issues immediately.

2. Transportation of Goods

-Transport goods, materials, and medical supplies safely and efficiently.

-Ensure that deliveries are made on time and comply with SANBS protocols.

-Handle items with care, especially hazardous or perishable goods.

3. Transportation of Passengers

-Safely transport employees, donors, or other authorized personnel when required.

-Ensure passenger comfort and safety throughout the journey.

4. Administrative and Support Duties

-Maintain accurate trip logs and delivery records.

-Report any incidents, delays, or traffic-related issues to management.

-Adhere to SANBS policies, procedures, and all road traffic laws.

Requirements:

-Minimum Grade 9 qualification.

-Valid Code C1 driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).

-Fluency in English (written and verbal).

-Prior experience as a driver in a healthcare or logistics environment is advantageous.
