Overview:
The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) is recruiting Cyber Crime Investigators to join its specialised team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidates will coordinate and conduct digital investigations and provide technical support in cybercrime cases.
Key Responsibilities:
-Coordinate and conduct specialised online investigations, including unauthorised access and social media investigations.
-Support national cybercrime projects and priority investigations.
-Assist in collecting and analysing digital evidence in line with legal and procedural frameworks.
-Supervise and manage resources allocated to the investigation unit.
Requirements and Skills:
-A Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
-A valid light motor vehicle driver’s license.
-Proficiency in at least two official languages, one of which must be English.
-South African citizenship with no previous criminal or departmental convictions.
-Diploma/Degree (NQF level 6 or higher) in Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Criminology, Information Technology, Forensic Science, or a related field.
-Experience in cybercrime investigations and training in tools such as EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, Cellebrite, XRY, Exeba, and Amped5 will be an advantage.
-No visible tattoos when in uniform.
-Must be willing to undergo vetting, fingerprint screening, and other SAPS-specific assessments.
