Overview:

The DPCI seeks a dedicated Digital Forensic Investigator to join its Cyber Crime Investigation unit at the Head Office in Pretoria. The successful candidate will support investigations by conducting digital forensic examinations, preserving evidence, and advising operational units.

Key Responsibilities:

-Conduct digital forensic investigations involving electronic devices used in cybercrimes.

-Perform evidence collection, analysis, preservation, and presentation aligned with applicable laws, including the Cybercrimes Act.

-Provide expert findings and court-driven digital forensic support.

-Participate in cyber awareness campaigns and assist with cybersecurity compliance.

-Conduct research and assist in developing forensic methodologies and SOPs.

-Manage physical, human, and financial resources within the forensic environment.

Requirements and Skills:

-A Senior Certificate (Grade 12).

-A valid light motor vehicle driver’s license.

-Proficient in at least two official languages, including English.

-South African citizenship with no criminal or departmental convictions.

-Diploma/Degree (NQF level 6 or higher) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, or related field.

-Experience in digital forensic investigation will serve as an advantage.

-No visible tattoos when wearing SAPS uniform.

-Successful candidates will undergo vetting, fingerprint screening, and assessments per SAPS policies.
