Overview

The Botswana Defence Force invites applications for the position of Senior Technical Assistant in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing air conditioning and refrigeration systems at military installations to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary Scale: B1 (P91,068 โ€“ P108,228 per annum)
  • Leave: 20 working days per annum
  • Benefits Include:
    • Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50%)
    • Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15%; employee pays 5%)
    • Housing and Upkeep Allowance of P366.70 per month

Key Responsibilities

-Install and service air conditioners and refrigeration systems.

-Inspect units and diagnose faults.

-Conduct routine preventative maintenance.

-Maintain the Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Sectionโ€™s inventory and tools.

-Provide timely technical support and advice.

-Maintain safety standards and prevent equipment loss or misuse.

Minimum Requirements

-Trade Test B (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning) or equivalent qualification.

-At least two (2) yearsโ€™ work experience as a Technical Assistant (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning) B3/2 salary scale or in a similar technical role.

-Strong knowledge of installation, repair, and maintenance standards.
