Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and safety-conscious Shift Utility Operator to join our committed team in Amanzimtoti. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of our plant, ensuring smooth production flow, quality control, safety, and cleanliness of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry over and complete tasks from the previous shift.
- Place raw materials on the production floor and prepare chemical solutions.
- Handle loading and offloading of bulk tankers.
- Operate filtering equipment and ensure product weight accuracy.
- Verify quality control approval before filling and sealing drums.
- Record daily measurements of bulk stock tanks to avoid overfilling.
- Obtain, label, and send product samples for quality control analysis.
- Operate a forklift to transport raw materials and finished goods.
- Assist the foreman in DCS monitoring and maintain scrubber systems.
- Clean and recharge caustic scrubber tanks and operating areas.
- Respond immediately to any spillages to minimize damage.
- Serve as a deputy for Shift Utility Operators and Plant Operators during absences.
- Perform additional tasks as required within your competency and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
- Minimum NQF Level 2 Chemical Operations Learnership
- Valid forklift license
- Preferred: NQF Level 3 in Chemical Operations or higher
