Overview

Ackermans is hiring 35 energetic Shop Assistant/Cashiers (P27) to create exceptional in-store experiences through friendly service, fast and accurate till work, neat merchandising, and well-kept sales floors. If you’re self-motivated, target-driven, and love a fast-paced retail environment, this role is a great pathway to grow your career. No experience required – training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

–Customer Service: Welcome customers, help them find products, resolve queries/complaints, and keep up to date with promotions.

–Cashier Duties: Process cash/card payments, lay-bys, and refunds; balance the till; report discrepancies promptly.

–Merchandising & Housekeeping: Price and display stock correctly, replenish shelves, and keep the sales floor, fitting rooms, and service areas neat.

–Loss Prevention & Stock: Tag products per policy, participate in stock takes, stay alert to shoplifting/fraud, and report suspicious activity to Management.

–Values & Compliance: Consistently live Ackermans values; follow policies, procedures, and store operating standards.

Requirements & Skills

–No prior retail experience needed — full training provided.

-Strong customer service mindset and communication skills (fluent in English; another SA language beneficial).

–High energy, tenacity, and a target-driven approach.

-Reliable, punctual, and comfortable standing/walking for long periods.

-Attention to detail, honesty, and the ability to follow instructions.

-Willing and able to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
