Overview

Ackermans is recruiting Shop Assistant / Cashier (P27 and P40 Flexi) positions across multiple Gauteng locations. The purpose of the role is to deliver an exceptional customer shopping experience through effective stock replenishment, merchandising, housekeeping, and accurate processing of transactions at till points.

This role is ideal for energetic, motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and are passionate about performance and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Service

-Deliver excellent customer service to create a positive shopping experience

-Assist customers in locating products

-Attend to customer queries and resolve complaints professionally

2. Cashier Duties

-Process cash and card payments accurately

-Process Lay-Bys and customer refunds

-Balance tills and report discrepancies to supervisors

3. Merchandising & Housekeeping

-Ensure stock is correctly priced and displayed

-Maintain product availability on the sales floor

-Keep store areas clean and organised

-Stay updated on current promotions

4. Risk & Compliance

• Ensure products are tagged according to company policy
• Participate in stock takes
• Monitor for shoplifting and fraudulent activities and report suspicious behaviour

• Fluent in English (additional languages advantageous)
