Overview:
Sibanye-Stillwater invites applications from motivated and suitably qualified individuals for the position of General Cadet Trainee SF. This 12-month cadetship programme is part of the company’s commitment to developing local talent through structured learning and workplace exposure. The programme aims to provide an opportunity for youth residing in local municipality communities to gain valuable experience and skills within the mining sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme Objectives:
-Successfully complete all phases of the development programme within the given timeframe.
-Escalate concerns or barriers encountered during the programme to appropriate stakeholders.
-Strict adherence to company policies and procedures at all times.
Discipline-Specific Duties:
-Perform assigned tasks in accordance with Mine and Technical Services standards.
-Work safely and support team members in achieving daily tasks.
-Follow and promote health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Reporting:
-Compile and submit progress reports on development.
-Communicate inconsistencies, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
-Provide constructive ideas and feedback as part of continuous development.
Stakeholder Relations:
-Foster and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and peers.
-Contribute to a supportive and positive work environment.
-Engage with team members and supervisors to gain operational insight.
Minimum Requirements:
- Educational Qualification:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (minimum 40%) or
- N3 Engineering with Mathematics and Physical Science (minimum 40%)
- Additional Requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must reside within the local municipality communities (proof of residence required via ward councillor letter)
- Must be declared medically fit through a risk-based medical examination at the Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre
- Must have a clear criminal record
Desirable Qualifications:
- NQF Level 4 (Grade 12 or equivalent)
- Relevant tertiary qualification will be an advantage
Programme Details:
- Duration: 12 months
- Stipend: Provided for the duration of the contract
- Employment Status: Temporary – No expectation of contract renewal or permanent employment upon completion
