Overview

The South African Police Service (SAPS) invites unemployed graduates to apply for a 24-month Workplace Integrated Learning Internship funded by SASSETA.

The Social Work Intern will render occupational social work services within SAPS Academies under supervision of a qualified Social Worker.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational social work services
• Deliver preventative and restorative interventions
• Apply community work model within occupational setting
• Support employee wellbeing initiatives
• Participate in capacity-building programmes
• Comply with governance frameworks and professional standards

Requirements

• South African citizen (18–35 years)
• BA Social Work Degree (NQF 6 or higher)
• Registered with SACSSP (valid 2025/2026 registration)
• Computer literacy (MS Word & PowerPoint advantageous)
• No criminal record
• Must be unemployed and not previously participated in similar internship
