Overview

Rand Water invites applications for an 18-month Supply Chain Practitioner Learnership aimed at preparing participants to operate as Procurement Officers. Learners will receive classroom training and workplace exposure across procurement planning, sourcing, contracting, and performance monitoring. This intake comprises 10 positions, of which 5 are designated for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

Key Responsibilities

-Develop and maintain operational procurement and supply schedules.

-Support supplier sourcing, relationships, negotiations, and contract administration.

-Monitor and measure procurement and supply performance against plans.

-During the learnership: attend classes, participate in group activities, complete assignments/projects, write assessments, and maintain a practical logbook.

Minimum Requirements

-South African citizen with valid SA ID.

-Age 18โ€“35 (aligned to NSDS III).

-Unemployed, not registered for any qualification, and not currently in any learnership.

-Not in possession of any completed post-matric qualification (undisclosed post-matric qualifications will lead to disqualification).

-Grade 12/Matric with Mathematics Literacy and English โ€“ minimum Level 4 for each.

-SAQA/NLRD verification report (attach to application).

-Proof of residence.

Persons with Disabilities (PWD) โ€“ Additional Requirements

  • Proof of disability: medical doctorโ€™s certificate/report or signed ITR-DD13.
  • Applicants who are deaf/hard of hearing must be able to provide their own interpreters at their own cost for the duration of the programme.

  • Skills: Clear verbal and written communication; basic computer and administrative aptitude.
