Overview:
The Office of the Pension Funds Adjudicator (OPFA), established in terms of Section 30B of the Pension Funds Act, 24 of 1956, is responsible for resolving pension fund complaints in a fair, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The OPFA is seeking a dedicated and professional individual to join its physical office cleaning team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about service delivery, reliable, and capable of maintaining a clean and hygienic office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
-Clean, sweep, vacuum, mop, and sanitize designated office areas as per cleaning schedule.
-Maintain cleanliness of bathrooms, including replenishment of toilet paper and hand soap.
-Wash dishes and ensure the kitchen area is clean and tidy at all times.
-Clean glass surfaces, blinds, and window sills as required.
-Prepare and clean meeting rooms before and after use.
-Set up and maintain a well-stocked tea/coffee station for meetings and visitors.
-Dispose of office waste and empty bins regularly.
-Conduct heavy-duty cleaning tasks and special projects as needed.
-Perform and document routine inspections and cleaning maintenance.
-Notify management of repair and maintenance needs.
-Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure supply rooms are stocked.
Requirements and Skills:
-Grade 10 or Standard 8 (Grade 12/Matric is advantageous).
-Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Cleaner in a corporate office setting.
-Familiarity with handling cleaning equipment and machinery.
-Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper usage.
-Good interpersonal and communication skills.
-Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
-Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
-Willingness to work extra hours and weekends when required.
