Overview
The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is recruiting five (5) Administrative Assistants to join the Claims Division on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Johannesburg. The primary purpose of these roles is to provide day-to-day administrative support to the Adjudication department. The successful candidates will contribute to the efficient functioning of the office through document management, meeting coordination, compliance administration, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
-Maintain accurate and updated records of departmental activities.
-Ensure compliance with RAF policies, internal standards, and procedures.
-Provide administrative support to ensure timely follow-ups on outstanding matters.
-Monitor and manage stationery supply within the department.
-Capture data and documents accurately on internal systems and registers.
-Identify and report duplicate requests and documents.
-Allocate reference numbers and distribute documents to appropriate team members.
-Draft and send correspondence to relevant stakeholders.
-Schedule and coordinate internal and external meetings.
-Take and distribute meeting minutes following governance standards.
-Track outstanding matters and follow up on meeting resolutions.
-Manage and maintain filing systems according to the RAF filing plan.
-Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of all documents.
-Retrieve information and ensure proper recording and filing of incoming documentation.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience in an administrative or similar environment
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong planning and organisational abilities
- Good administrative and document-handling skills
- Accurate data capturing and information retrieval
- Effective written communication skills
- Basic understanding of Supply Chain Management processes
- Basic financial acumen
- Strong client service orientation
