Overview

TotalEnergies Marketing South Africa (Pty) Ltd is seeking a dedicated Plant Operator to join our Operations team in Durban. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic manufacturing environment, contributing to productivity, safety, and compliance with key regulatory and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

Productivity / Delivery

-Ensure standard daily filling targets are met.

-Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness in the designated filling area.

-Operate filling equipment safely and effectively.

-Follow all applicable filling and work instructions.

-Report unsafe conditions or non-conforming practices.

-Ensure the allocated filling crew is present and report absentees to the Production Line Leader.

-Collect daily filling instructions and commence work as per guidelines.

-Operate forklifts as needed.

Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ)

-Minimise HSE risks in your area of responsibility.

-Comply with all HSE policies, rules, guidelines, and legal requirements.

-Promote a safe working environment and contribute to achieving HSE KPIs.

-Identify and enforce HSE competency requirements.


Candidate Profile

  • Minimum Education: Matric / N4 or equivalent.
  • Preferred Qualification: Any 3-year tertiary qualification.
  • Experience: 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing plant.
  • Language: Proficient in English (speak, read, write, and understand).
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Operation of plant machinery and filling equipment.
    • Knowledge of HSEQ systems (ISO 9000 / 14001).
    • Trained in production processes and hazardous chemical handling.
    • Familiarity with fire-fighting equipment and spill response.
    • Basic computer literacy is an advantage.
