Overview:

UPD is seeking a highly organized and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee dispatch and fleet operations at its Durban branch. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and accurate distribution, efficient inventory control, and compliance with SOPs and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

-Supervise picking, checking, packing, and dispatch functions to meet delivery cut-offs.

-Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety, and quality assurance protocols.

-Manage dispatch capacity, route mapping, order cycle times, and customer service levels.

-Oversee equipment inspections and maintenance.

-Handle fleet management, including servicing schedules and delivery efficiency.

-Generate daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance reports.

-Manage proof-of-delivery (POD) processes and reverse logistics.

-Maintain cleanliness and safety standards across dispatch areas.

-Monitor quality and output, ensuring team productivity.

-Perform staff training, performance management, and disciplinary processes.

-Assist with stock counts and manage order-related disputes or claims.

-Ensure effective overtime scheduling and staff management.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

-Essential: Matric / NQF Level 4

-Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualifications

-Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in operations/logistics/fleet management

Knowledge and Skills:

-Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and ERP/WMS systems

-Financial awareness and budgeting knowledge

-Ability to lead under pressure and meet tight deadlines

-Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills

-Excellent attention to detail and integrity in operational management
