Overview:

Weco (Pty) Ltd, a leading precision engineering company specializing in mining and quarrying solutions, is seeking an experienced Driver to join its Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in logistical support, ensuring timely, secure, and cost-efficient delivery of goods while upholding safety, professionalism, and efficiency standards.

Responsibilities:

-Plan and schedule daily routes to minimize downtime and reduce transportation costs.

-Ensure all required documentation (invoices, delivery notes, collection notes) is correct and accompanies goods.

-Verify that the goods loaded match the paperwork and request clarification when necessary.

-Conduct vehicle inspections before each trip to ensure compliance with OHS and ISO safety standards.

-Securely load and strap goods in the vehicle according to Goods in Transit insurance requirements.

-Never overload the vehicle and ensure compliance with transport regulations.

-Maintain constant communication with the logistics team regarding route updates and deliveries.

-Submit daily trip reports and timesheets for record-keeping and optimization of future routes.

-Report all accidents, near misses, and vehicle issues to the warehouse team leader and relevant authorities.

-Report any requests involving illegal activities, bribery, or unethical conduct that could compromise Weco’s brand reputation.

Requirements:

Matric certificate (Grade 12).

Minimum of 3 years of driving experience in a logistics, supply chain, or fast-paced environment.

Valid Code 10 driver’s license.

-Strong administrative and organizational skills.

-Knowledge of efficient trip planning and logistics operations.

-Basic computer literacy and ability to operate navigation tools and applications.

-Technologically savvy with attention to detail.

-Strong communication and teamwork skills.
