Overview

Premium Resources Botswana is looking for a qualified Winding Engine Driver to safely operate the winding engine system used for transporting personnel, materials, and ore in compliance with the Mines, Quarries, Works and Machinery Act. This role requires strong attention to safety, legal compliance, and operational discipline.

Key Responsibilities

-Operate the winding engine to hoist/lower men, material, and ore in the mine shaft.

-Sign and update the driverโ€™s logbook in line with regulations (Reg. 401(4) and 380(c)).

-Only operate the engine upon receiving distinct and proper signalingโ€”unless instructed by an authorized person in emergencies.

-Follow and understand all provisions in the MQWM Act, particularly PART XXIV and PART XXV.

-Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including lock-out procedures prior to work commencement.

-Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Requirements and Skills

    -BGCSE or equivalent

    -Valid Winding Engine Driver Certificate of Competency or equivalent Certificate of Test

    -Must be over 21 years of age

    -Must have actively operated as a Winding Engine Driver within the last 2 years

    -Sound understanding of relevant mining safety legislation

    -Attention to detail and clear communication skills

    -Ability to work as part of a team

    -Demonstrated adherence to safety, operational compliance, and PNR core values
