The successful candidate will play a critical role in promoting road safety and enforcing traffic regulations to ensure the well-being of the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enforce road traffic and municipal by-laws<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct road inspections and perform point duty<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Issue traffic fines and execute warrants of arrest<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Impound unroadworthy, illegally parked, or abandoned vehicles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enforce pedestrian, speed, and overload control<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respond to moving violations and incidents involving intoxicated drivers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support public transport law enforcement initiatives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend accident scenes in coordination with SAPS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Escort VIPs, abnormal loads, and manage traffic at events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide crowd control and manage scholar patrols<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain compliance with operational procedures and recordkeeping<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give testimony in court regarding traffic violations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform additional traffic-related duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Minimum Requirements:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Matric \/ Grade 12 or equivalent qualification<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic Traffic Officer Diploma<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 years of operational experience in traffic law enforcement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No criminal record or prior convictions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Registration as a Road Traffic Law Enforcement Officer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Valid Code B driver\u2019s licence (Code C1 or EC is an added advantage)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Examiner for Driving Licences and\/or Examiner of Vehicles Diplomas (added advantage)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Skills and Competencies:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong knowledge of traffic systems, practices, and relevant legislation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with Road Traffic Management Corporation Act, National Road Traffic Act, and Criminal Procedure Act<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work in inter-governmental environments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong recordkeeping and reporting abilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">APPLICATION PROCESS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/zentrofly.com\/jobs\/apply-for-dikgatlong-local-municipality-traffic-officer\/\">APPLY HERE<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job Opportunity at Dikgatlong Local Municipality: Traffic Officer \u2013 Apply by 09 May 2025 Location: Barkly West, Northern CapeReference Number: 2024\/001\/29\/CSDClosing Date: 09 May 2025Position Type: PermanentSalary: R294,232.56 per annum (excluding benefits) Overview: Dikgatlong Local Municipality is seeking a dedicated and qualified Traffic Officer to join its Community Services Department.
