Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Pick n Pay is recruiting over 20 attentive and customer-oriented General Workers<\/strong> for our Fruit & Veg Departments<\/strong> across South Africa. This role ensures the freshness, presentation, and quality of produce while assisting customers in a vibrant and fast-paced retail environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

-Unpack, display, and rotate fresh produce according to FIFO standards<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Check produce quality and remove items that are expired or damaged<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain clean and hygienic produce sections, including display bins and storage areas<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Monitor cold chain integrity for chilled fruits and vegetables<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure correct pricing, labels, and promotional signage is displayed<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Assist with packing, trimming, and preparation of produce for sale<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Interact with customers and provide assistance in locating or selecting produce<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Comply with food safety, hygiene, and health protocols<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Prevent shrinkage and wastage through careful handling and monitoring<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minimum Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

-Grade 10 (Grade 12 advantageous)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Physically fit and able to lift produce crates<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Willingness to work retail shifts, including weekends and public holidays<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Previous produce or food handling experience is beneficial<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Comfortable working in cold or humid environments when required<\/p>\n\n\n\n
