Job Summary<\/strong>
The Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC) seeks a dynamic and experienced Public Relations Manager<\/strong> to develop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies. This role is pivotal in enhancing LTDC\u2019s image and promoting Lesotho as a premier tourism destination. The ideal candidate will oversee communications, media relations, and stakeholder engagement while ensuring alignment with LTDC\u2019s mission and objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The position may require occasional travel to events, media briefings, or PR-related activities. Flexibility in working hours is necessary to meet deadlines or manage time-sensitive media inquiries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strategic PR Planning:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Develop and implement a strategic public relations plan aligned with LTDC\u2019s goals to promote tourism in Lesotho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Identify target audiences and craft tailored messaging to effectively engage them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media Relations:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers to secure positive coverage for LTDC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Prepare and distribute press releases, media kits, and other communication materials that highlight Lesotho\u2019s tourism opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crisis Management:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Develop and execute crisis communication strategies to protect LTDC\u2019s reputation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Act as the official spokesperson during crises, delivering clear and consistent messaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Content Creation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Oversee the creation of engaging content for platforms such as LTDC\u2019s website, social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure all content aligns with LTDC\u2019s branding and messaging guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Event Management:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Plan and coordinate promotional events, media briefings, and community outreach initiatives to raise awareness about Lesotho\u2019s tourism sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful event execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stakeholder Engagement:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Foster relationships with government agencies, tourism operators, and community organizations to promote collaborative public relations efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Engage with local communities to highlight their contributions to the tourism industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monitoring and Reporting:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Monitor media coverage and public sentiment regarding LTDC and the tourism sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Prepare regular reports on PR activities, campaign impact, and public perception to guide continuous improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Education:<\/strong> Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Experience:<\/strong> A minimum of five (5) years in public relations or communications, preferably in tourism or hospitality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Personal Attributes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Communication Skills:<\/strong> Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging diverse audiences effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Creativity and Innovation:<\/strong> Ability to craft compelling campaigns that capture public interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Interpersonal Skills:<\/strong> Strong relationship-building and collaboration abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Attention to Detail:<\/strong> High accuracy in communications and PR activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Familiarity with PR analytical tools and media monitoring platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Experience in event planning, content creation, and management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
