Overview:<\/strong>
The Eastern Cape Department of Education is looking for versatile and reliable individuals to fill 10 Driver\/Handyman positions. The successful candidates will be responsible for driving duties as well as performing routine maintenance and repair tasks to ensure school facilities are safe, operational, and well-maintained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Operate light and medium vehicles for official school duties<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure vehicle logbooks are maintained and vehicle cleanliness is upheld<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Perform general handyman duties such as basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and minor electrical work<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Assist with loading and unloading of goods and materials<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain and repair school infrastructure and furniture<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Manage tools and equipment used for maintenance work<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Support staff with event setup, deliveries, and general operational support<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Adhere to safety regulations while operating tools and vehicles<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements and Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-A valid driver’s license (minimum Code 10 recommended)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Grade 9 or higher academic qualification<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Basic experience in building maintenance, repairs, or construction<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Good mechanical aptitude and general handyman knowledge<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Must be physically fit, responsible, and safety-conscious<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Basic recordkeeping skills and ability to follow verbal\/written instructions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Professionalism, reliability, and willingness to work flexible hours if needed<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Preference will be given to local candidates with both driving and maintenance experience<\/p>\n\n\n\n
