Overview:<\/strong>
The Eastern Cape Department of Education is seeking dependable and caring individuals for 2 Food Service Aid positions at public special schools. This role focuses on preparing and serving nutritious meals to learners, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and supporting the school\u2019s overall learner care programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Prepare, cook, and serve meals to learners and staff<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Follow dietary guidelines, including meals tailored to learners with special needs<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen, dining areas, and equipment<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure compliance with food handling and safety regulations<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Monitor food stocks and assist with stock rotation and storage<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Report supply shortages or equipment malfunctions to supervisors<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Wash dishes, utensils, and clean work surfaces regularly<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Assist with kitchen duties during school events, where needed<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Work closely with other support staff to provide comprehensive care to learners<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements and Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Grade 9 or equivalent school leaving certificate<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Basic knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and safety standards<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ability to follow instructions and adhere to nutritional guidelines<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Good interpersonal skills and a friendly, patient attitude<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Physical stamina and attention to cleanliness and detail<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Experience working in special school environments is an advantage<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Preference will be given to candidates living in the area of the school<\/p>\n\n\n\n
