Job Overview<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

FNB is seeking a Data Protection and Privacy Analyst<\/strong> to provide guidance, support, and expertise in data privacy compliance, risk mitigation, and governance<\/strong>. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that data privacy and protection requirements<\/strong> are met while aligning business processes with regulatory standards, such as the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)<\/strong> and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Data Privacy Compliance and Risk Management<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Review, enhance, and implement business processes for acquiring and securing customer data<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Identify and mitigate risks related to data privacy, data leaks, and breaches<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure compliance with data protection laws, regulations, and internal policies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Conduct privacy risk assessments<\/strong> and implement controls to mitigate identified risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Drive the adoption of data privacy processes and capabilities<\/strong> across business segments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Monitor and enforce privacy policies, standards, and governance frameworks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure the ethical and lawful processing of personal information<\/strong>, including data classification and retention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Data Security and Breach Management<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Implement privacy-by-design principles<\/strong> in business operations and new projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Establish and monitor data security risk management processes<\/strong> to prevent unauthorized access or misuse of data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Support incident response and data breach management<\/strong>, including regulatory reporting where necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Work with third-party vendors and suppliers<\/strong> to ensure compliance with privacy risk management<\/strong> requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Training, Awareness, and Regulatory Engagement<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Provide privacy awareness training and advisory services<\/strong> to internal teams and stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Keep up to date with global and local data privacy trends, best practices, and enforcement activities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Support engagement with regulatory bodies<\/strong> and contribute to compliance reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Establish learning and development programs for data privacy subject matter experts (SMEs)<\/strong> across the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governance and Reporting<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Support the FirstRand Data Privacy and Protection Centre of Excellence (CoE)<\/strong> and governance structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Provide reports on privacy risks, incidents, and compliance efforts<\/strong> for informed decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Monitor and track privacy risk appetite, risk metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Identify opportunities for business process improvements<\/strong> related to data privacy and governance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

-Strong knowledge of data protection laws and regulations<\/strong> (POPIA, GDPR, and related frameworks).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Experience in data privacy risk assessments, compliance monitoring, and governance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Expertise in data classification, data flow analysis, and security measures<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ability to interpret and implement privacy regulations<\/strong> into business operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to assess data privacy threats and mitigation strategies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and educate stakeholders<\/strong> on data privacy matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Experience in incident response, risk tracking, and regulatory reporting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
