Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Kalcon (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior General Manager<\/strong> to lead major civil engineering projects across Botswana. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the construction of large-scale civil engineering works, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and safety while managing teams and subcontractors. This role requires a deep understanding of construction procedures, plant operations, and project execution strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

-Lead and manage the construction of major civil engineering projects<\/strong>, including bulk earthworks and concrete structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure proper implementation of construction and production procedures<\/strong> for high-quality project execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Utilize various major construction plants and equipment<\/strong> efficiently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Develop and implement team-building strategies<\/strong> for earthworks, plant, and concrete teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain, coordinate, and supervise all site activities<\/strong>, fostering strong collaboration between the company and subcontractors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure compliance with scaffolding design, height work, and confined space regulations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Operate GOMACO machines<\/strong> effectively (prior experience required).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Enforce health, safety, and quality control policies<\/strong> to uphold industry standards and ensure project safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minimum Qualifications & Experience<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

–Trade Test Qualification<\/strong> or Recognition of Prior Learning (ROPL)<\/strong> with specialization in Concrete Works<\/strong> or equivalent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–At least 15 years\u2019<\/strong> experience in civil, building, and mining construction projects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Proven expertise in procurement, construction, machine operations, and vessel (Bulk Carriers) management<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Occupational Health and Safety certification<\/strong> with a legal orientation in construction management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Referential certification<\/strong> in Vessel Management and Transportation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional Requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

-Must be willing to travel across Botswana<\/strong> and be assigned to any Kalcon project as needed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
