Overview<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Phakisa Holdings (Pty) Ltd is seeking experienced Code 14 Drivers<\/strong> to join our team in Isipingo, Merebank, Umlazi, Wentwood, and Durban Central<\/strong>. The successful candidates will be responsible for transporting materials, equipment, and personnel<\/strong> safely and efficiently to various project sites. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth logistical operations<\/strong> within the construction and engineering sectors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

-Operate Code 14 trucks<\/strong>, transporting goods, construction materials, machinery, and personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections<\/strong>, checking tire pressure, oil levels, lights, brakes, and overall vehicle condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Adhere to road safety and traffic laws<\/strong>, ensuring compliance with national and local regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Secure all loads properly, ensuring they meet safety and transport standards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Assist in loading and unloading cargo<\/strong> when required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or safety concerns<\/strong> to management immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain accurate logs<\/strong> of travel times, fuel consumption, and transported materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Follow designated routes and schedules<\/strong>, ensuring timely deliveries to construction sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs<\/strong> on vehicles as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Keep the truck clean and well-maintained<\/strong>, both inside and out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Assist in the setup and breakdown of construction equipment<\/strong> at project sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Work closely with site managers and other staff<\/strong>, ensuring seamless operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain a professional driving record<\/strong> and adhere to all company safety policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements & Skills<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

–Valid Code 14 Driver\u2019s License<\/strong> with a Professional Driver\u2019s Permit (PDP)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Minimum of 4 years of experience<\/strong> driving heavy vehicles, preferably in construction or engineering<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Strong knowledge of road safety regulations<\/strong> and logistics operations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Experience in transporting heavy construction equipment or machinery<\/strong> is an advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ability to work flexible hours<\/strong>, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Familiarity with local routes<\/strong> in and around the designated areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Strong attention to detail<\/strong>, particularly in load management and vehicle inspections<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ability to maintain a clean driving record<\/strong> and follow all traffic laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Basic mechanical knowledge<\/strong> to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Matric\/Grade 12 qualification<\/strong> preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
