Job Overview:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Intercape is seeking experienced Code 14 Long Distance Coach Drivers<\/strong> to transport passengers across South Africa, covering all nine provinces and cross-border destinations, including Botswana, Maputo, and Windhoek. The ideal candidate should have over five years of long-distance driving experience<\/strong>, be well-presented, and possess excellent driving skills to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for all passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Pre-Trip Inspection:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Conduct and complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections<\/strong> according to Intercape\u2019s checklist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Verify the Africa Fines Checklist<\/strong> and required travel documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure all necessary equipment and documentation are in place, including operating licenses, permits, logbooks, and fault books<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain and inspect luggage control sheets, trailer locks, and keys<\/strong> before departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Driving Duties:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Drive in accordance with K53 road safety regulations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure adherence to Intercape speed limits<\/strong> and all national traffic laws<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Conduct vehicle K53 inspections<\/strong> after every driver changeover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Apply defensive driving techniques<\/strong> as per company training standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure the vehicle is not overloaded<\/strong> and follows the designated schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Adhere to a four-hour driving time policy<\/strong> for safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passenger Assistance & Customer Service:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the coach<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Pay special attention to elderly passengers, unaccompanied minors, and persons with disabilities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure that all passengers on cross-border trips<\/strong> possess the necessary travel documentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Provide route information, directions, and support<\/strong> to passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Handle passenger complaints professionally and courteously<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luggage Handling & Security:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Load and secure luggage safely<\/strong>, ensuring no flammable, dangerous, or illegal substances are transported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure all excess luggage fees<\/strong> are correctly recorded and receipted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Conduct luggage checks<\/strong> en-route and ensure all items are tagged with valid Intercape luggage stickers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain parcel and package handling<\/strong> procedures, ensuring proper waybills and documentation are in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breakdowns & Emergencies:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Stop in a safe location<\/strong> and assess the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Keep passengers informed and reassured<\/strong> during breakdowns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Communicate effectively with Central Operations<\/strong> for assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Assist in transferring passengers to a replacement vehicle when necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Perform basic mechanical repairs<\/strong> if possible, including tyre changes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coach Hygiene & Maintenance:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure that the coach is kept clean and tidy<\/strong> throughout the journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Conduct regular cleaning of the emergency toilet<\/strong> and maintain adequate hygiene supplies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Collect passenger rubbish at every refreshment stop<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Report equipment malfunctions<\/strong> and reoccurring issues to management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Administrative Duties:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Verify boarding passes and passenger tickets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain a valid and updated manifest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Record and balance excess luggage and onboard sales (OBS) transactions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Submit all completed documents and receipts<\/strong> at the end of each trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure that headcounts are performed at major stops and refreshment breaks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements & Skills:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

–Grade 10 (Standard 8)<\/strong> minimum education requirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Valid EC (Code 14) or EC1 04 (Code 11) License<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit)<\/strong> \u2013 must be valid for at least three months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–No outstanding traffic fines<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Own cellular phone<\/strong> for communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Clear criminal and Nexis Lexis report<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Reliable transport<\/strong> (or access to suitable public transport).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Fluency in English and one additional language<\/strong> (Bilingual proficiency preferred).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-A minimum of three years of long-distance driving experience on South African roads<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Experience handling passenger complaints and emergency situations professionally<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional Requirements:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Must be between 28 to 60 years old<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
