Overview<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA), the national regulatory body for the communications sector, is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Driver\/Messenger<\/strong>. This role is essential in providing safe and efficient transportation of personnel and materials, timely delivery of mail and documents, and maintaining the Authority\u2019s vehicle in optimal condition. The successful candidate will support internal teams and coordinate with external service providers to ensure seamless logistics and communications operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Transport Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Provide timely and safe transportation for employees and materials as assigned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Adhere to all road traffic laws and LCA safety procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Plan routes effectively to meet delivery and pickup deadlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain a clean, roadworthy vehicle and ensure regular servicing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Track and record mileage and fuel consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Messenger Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Collect and deliver mail, parcels, and documents within and outside the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure sensitive documents are handled securely and confidentially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Manage delivery schedules and report any delays or issues promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vehicle Maintenance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Conduct routine vehicle checks (tyres, oil, lights, etc.) before and after trips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Immediately report vehicle faults or damages to the supervisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Keep vehicle maintenance and repair records up to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Coordinate with external service providers for vehicle servicing when required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safety and Compliance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Observe all occupational health and safety protocols, including proper handling of heavy loads (up to 25 kg).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain compliance with transport regulations and LCA policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Promptly report incidents or accidents and follow required procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Attend mandatory safety training and retain valid driving certifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collaboration and Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Assist outsourced transport personnel as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Work closely with administrative teams to align transport plans with operational needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Support supply distribution and office logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Participate in transport and administration meetings to provide input on process improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
