This role requires a proactive finance professional with a strong grasp of IFRS standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting processes. The successful candidate will lead a small team and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Record, review, and process journal entries in Sage X3 v12 in line with group policies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review monthly accruals, provisions, loan interest calculations, IFRS 16 bookings, and fixed assets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform general ledger account reconciliations and clearings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare monthly closings, management accounts, and IFRS-compliant financial statements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage and submit VAT, WHT, Import VAT, provisional and annual corporate tax returns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate annual external audits and maintain up-to-date accounting policies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure compliance with internal controls, group policies, and statutory regulations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct regular cash flow planning (weekly, monthly, annual)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop and manage monthly and annual budgets aligned with company strategy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify and implement improvements and automation in finance processes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide leadership and support to a team of 2\u20133 finance professionals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements and Skills<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Chief Accountant<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience working in international companies with strict monthly closings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and IFRS-compliant financial reporting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In-depth understanding of Lesotho tax regulations, including VAT, WHT, and Import VAT<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proven experience with external audits and policy compliance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficient in Excel and accounting software; Sage X3 experience is an advantage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and time-management skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fluent in English (written and verbal)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work independently and manage a small team effectively<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Professional accounting designation (e.g., ACCA, CA) is an added advantage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Affiliated membership with the <strong>Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Interpersonal Competencies<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong communication and leadership skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Results-driven and proactive problem-solving attitude<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to adapt and learn quickly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High levels of accuracy, punctuality, and attention to detail<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.expresscredit.co.ls\/page\/careers\">APPLY HERE<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for finance excellence, we invite you to apply for this challenging and rewarding role.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chief AccountantLocation: LesothoJob Type: Full-TimeDepartment: Finance Overview A leading organization in Lesotho is seeking a qualified and experienced Chief Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting operations and provide strategic support in treasury and financial controlling functions.
