This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that Vodacom\u2019s network infrastructure aligns with strategic cloudification and digital transformation goals. The successful candidate will lead key infrastructure initiatives, support planning, and ensure conformance to architectural standards, ultimately driving technical excellence across the core data network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Role Purpose<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>-Provide strategic technical guidance for network infrastructure planning aligned with Vodacom\u2019s cloudification goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Support the formulation and alignment of network budgets with strategic infrastructure development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Ensure vendor network functions comply with architecture and security strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>-Deliver architecture and technical expertise to guide network infrastructure and automation projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Provide strategic input on infrastructure security and conformance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Lead and manage approved infrastructure implementation projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Mentor junior engineers and provide high-level technical support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Facilitate seamless integration between Engineering and Operations departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Create and maintain knowledge base documentation for ongoing support and reference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements and Skills<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Telecommunication, or Computer Systems).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Technical Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In-depth knowledge of compute, storage, and networking technologies and protocols.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong understanding of OpenStack platforms and cloud-native infrastructure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Solid grasp of mobile network technologies and communication protocols.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to think innovatively and challenge the status quo with new ideas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical reasoning abilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About Vodacom<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At Vodacom, we are driven by the mission to build a better, more connected, and inclusive future.
