has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Overview:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Environment and Forestry, through the Department of Environment, is implementing a Global Environment Facility (GEF)-funded project titled <strong>\u201cIntegration of Natural Capital Accounting into Lesotho\u2019s Policy and Decision-Making for Sustainable Development.\u201d<\/strong> As part of this initiative, the Ministry seeks to appoint a qualified and experienced <strong>Project Gender Mainstreaming Officer<\/strong> to ensure that gender perspectives are integrated throughout the project\u2019s implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The successful candidate will support the inclusion of gender-sensitive approaches in data collection, policy recommendations, stakeholder engagement, and capacity-building activities related to natural capital accounting (NCA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>-Implement and monitor the Gender Action Plan across all project components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Ensure that gender perspectives are integrated into data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Assess the differential impacts of project activities on men, women, and vulnerable groups with respect to access and control over natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Ensure inclusive participation of all genders in project activities and decision-making processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Conduct gender needs analysis related to natural resource management and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Contribute to the development of gender indicators for project monitoring and evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Collaborate with the Department of Gender to train staff, partners, and stakeholders on gender mainstreaming practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Promote and develop gender-responsive policy recommendations aligned with sustainable natural resource use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Support mid-term reviews, impact evaluations, and continuous monitoring of gender-related KPIs in collaboration with the M&amp;E Specialist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Perform any other gender-related duties as assigned by the Project Coordinator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements and Qualifications:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Academic Qualifications:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Master\u2019s degree<\/strong> in Social Sciences, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field with a specialization in gender.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Minimum 5 years<\/strong> of practical experience in gender equality, social inclusion, and mainstreaming.<br><strong>OR<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bachelor\u2019s degree<\/strong> in Social Sciences, Sociology, Social Work, or related field with a specialization in gender.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Minimum 7 years<\/strong> of relevant practical experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Additional Requirements:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>-Formal training in gender mainstreaming for projects or programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Strong understanding of the gender context in Lesotho and familiarity with working in government or development institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Proficiency in using gender analysis tools and methodologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Strong report writing, analytical, and communication skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Fluency in <strong>both English and Sesotho<\/strong> (spoken and written).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-High levels of integrity and ethical behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Deep understanding of social development issues such as poverty, discrimination, and marginalisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Ability to engage with diverse communities and stakeholders strategically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr
