Reporting to the Deputy Registrar, this position offers a unique opportunity for law graduates to support judicial functions by conducting legal research, managing court documentation, and ensuring procedural efficiency within chambers and court proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Position Purpose:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Judges\u2019 Clerk plays a vital role in supporting judges by conducting detailed legal research, preparing case files, assisting in courtroom operations, and managing key administrative tasks that facilitate the delivery of justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Conduct Legal Research<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>-Analyze and identify legal issues for cases before the court<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Discuss case matters with the assigned judge<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Conduct in-depth research on legal topics and report findings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Present relevant case law and legislation to the judge<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Monitor and update the judiciary on legal developments<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Manage the Judge\u2019s Daily Workload<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>-Maintain and manage the judge\u2019s diary and schedule<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Verify citations and check drafts of judgments<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Convene court sessions and record judicial instructions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Secure exhibits and manage court evidence<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Communicate judgment delivery dates to the Registrar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Assist with pre-trial preparation and meetings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Liaise with the Registrar<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Record court postponements and track:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fresh cases<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Part-heard cases<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reserved judgments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assess performance of court support staff<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Liaise with the Roll Office on hearing schedules<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. File Management in Chambers<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintain status of:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Criminal trials, applications, and reviews<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Civil trials, applications, and reviews<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Appeal cases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Record Keeping &amp; Efficiency Tasks<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensure the secure and proper movement of court files<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deliver complete case files to the Registrar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Index and store judgments accurately<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6.
