Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

National retail outlets are recruiting 200 General Assistants<\/strong> to deliver excellent in-store customer service, maintain merchandising standards, ensure accurate shelf price labelling, and keep trading areas clean, safe, and easy to shop. These roles are open to external applicants only<\/strong> and are suitable for first-time job seekers\u2014no experience required<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

–Customer Service:<\/strong> Advise customers on products; resolve basic queries and escalate complaints appropriately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Merchandising Standards:<\/strong> Merchandise bulk and shelf stock safely to the store layout\/planograms; replenish stock timeously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Housekeeping:<\/strong> Keep aisles clear and work areas hazard-free; label shelves accurately; complete canteen and toilet\/shower checklists when on duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Safety (OHSA):<\/strong> Use required PPE; ensure racking\/bulk stock is secured; report hazards and incidents; support a safe environment for customers and colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Stock Loss Control:<\/strong> Identify and report damaged\/expired\/incorrectly priced stock to the Store Manager; follow store processes to reduce shrink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–General Support:<\/strong> Execute duties aligned to store SOPs; assist with additional tasks when required to support trading operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements & Skills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

–Minimum:<\/strong> Grade 10 \/ NQF 3, no experience required<\/strong>, or<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Grade 12 (Matric) with or without experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Right to Work:<\/strong> Valid South African ID or valid work permit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Communication:<\/strong> Able to communicate in English<\/strong> and the predominant local language of the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Numeracy:<\/strong> Able to perform basic calculations accurately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Availability:<\/strong> Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays<\/strong>; able to work under pressure and meet pace\/quality targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
