The clerks will provide secretariat and administrative support to the Ward Councillor and ensure effective ward functionality, community liaison and customer care referral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>-Provide full secretariat support for ward committees and meetings: circulate approved calendars, issue notices, arrange venues, prepare agendas for Councillor approval, take minutes and ensure safe record-keeping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Liaise with the <strong>Public Participation Office<\/strong> on support needs and report on ward functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Ensure wards have the required tools of trade (including report templates).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Collect and consolidate reports from ward committees for Councillor approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Report non-cooperating ward committee members to the Councillor\/Public Participation Office for intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Advise committees about meetings and training arranged by the Municipality and ensure logistics are in place and attended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Assist communities to log complaints and redirect to <strong>Municipal Customer Care<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Support the <strong>Amenities<\/strong> section: oversee day-to-day operation of community facilities (halls, sports fields, cemeteries), control keys, and report damages\/vandalism or maintenance needs to the Supervisor: Amenities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements &amp; Skills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<strong>Minimum education:<\/strong> Grade 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<strong>Added advantage:<\/strong> Demonstrated involvement\/experience in community structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Strong administration, meeting coordination and minute-taking ability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Clear, respectful communication with diverse community stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Organised, reliable and able to manage documents and deadlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<strong>Residency:<\/strong> Only applicants <strong>residing within Senqu\u2019s area of jurisdiction and in the specific ward they are applying for<\/strong> will be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Remuneration &amp; Benefits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Stipend:<\/strong> <strong>R4,200 per month.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fixed-term appointment <strong>linked to the 2021\/26 Council term<\/strong> (not permanent).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Employment Equity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Senqu Municipality subscribes to affirmative action and employment equity.
