The role is central to the formulation, implementation, and coordination of national economic and financial policies in Botswana. This is a senior government position that requires significant technical expertise, leadership experience, and a proven record in public finance management and policy development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Main Purpose of the Job:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To provide strategic leadership in formulating and coordinating macroeconomic and financial policies, including taxation, banking, insurance, pensions, fiscal forecasting, and financial inclusion, while strengthening national fiscal sustainability and sovereign wealth strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in <strong>Economics<\/strong>, <strong>Finance<\/strong>, <strong>Management<\/strong>, or related fields.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>Master\u2019s Degree<\/strong> in a relevant field will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Minimum <strong>20 years\u2019 experience<\/strong> in macroeconomic and financial policy development and implementation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Should have served at <strong>F2 Government level<\/strong> or equivalent in parastatals or the private sector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preferred exposure to:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>National planning and economic policy analysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working with international institutions (e.g. IMF, World Bank, SADC, Moody\u2019s, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Modelling and research tools (GAMS\/CGE, EViews, Excel)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sovereign Wealth Fund and Exchange Rate Policy expertise<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fiscal sustainability and economic development strategies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>-Lead and coordinate macroeconomic and fiscal policy development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Monitor domestic, regional, and global economic trends for informed policy advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Advise the Minister of Finance on exchange rate policy;
