Overview:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

GMC Maruding Resources Proprietary Limited, a reputable company operating in the mining and fabrication industry, is seeking to recruit a highly experienced Plater-Welder \/ Fabrication Technician<\/strong>. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in heavy steel fabrication within a mining or industrial environment and possess the technical competence to handle complex fabrication and installation tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

-Carry out heavy steel fabrication and welding work in line with engineering drawings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Fabricate and install mining equipment such as silos, bins, chutes, crushers, mills, and screens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure all welding and fabrication tasks comply with safety and quality standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Interpret engineering drawings accurately for the execution of assigned work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Apply corrosion protection techniques during fabrication processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Conduct basic risk assessments and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company safety protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Adhere to the MQWM Act (Botswana) and related industry standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Requirements:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

–National Certificate in Fabrication Engineering<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Class 1 Fabricator\/Welder Trade Test Certificate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Certificate in Corrosion Protection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Minimum of 10 years<\/strong> experience in heavy steel fabrication workshop environments<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Proven experience with mining-type equipment fabrication and installation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Prior experience as a Boilermaker in the mining sector<\/strong> will be advantageous<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Technical Competencies:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

-Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Strong knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)<\/strong> regulations<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Thorough understanding of the Mines, Quarries, Works and Machinery (MQWM) Act<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ability to conduct risk assessments<\/strong> and develop mitigation strategies<\/p>\n\n\n\n
