Overview<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lentegeur Hospital is recruiting four Security Officers to provide professional safety and security services across psychiatric and forensic units. The role focuses on controlled access, patient escorts, surveillance monitoring, incident prevention, and accurate reporting to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Control access and egress to hospital premises and units; conduct searches where required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Escort patients on and off hospital property and between clinical areas, as directed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Assist staff in safely managing aggressive or violent behaviour in psychiatric settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Monitor and operate surveillance\/CCTV systems; identify unlawful entry, suspicious objects, and adverse events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Prevent injuries, abscondments, and other security incidents; respond promptly to alarms and emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain occurrence books, compile incident\/shift reports, and record patient movements accurately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Support the Operational Manager and unit teams with reliable, professional security assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Uphold institutional policies, patient rights, and applicable legislation at all times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements & Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Educational Qualification: GETC \/ Grade 9 (Standard 7)<\/strong> or equivalent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Professional Registration: PSIRA-registered Security Officer, Grade C or higher<\/strong> (in terms of the Security Industry Regulatory Authority Act).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Experience: Relevant experience as a Security Officer, preferably in a psychiatric environment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Inherent Requirements: Willing to work shifts<\/strong>, weekends, and public holidays; rotate between units; perform delegated duties across different areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
