Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

-Safely operate Code 10 (C1)<\/strong> vehicles for deliveries, collections and transfers (some roles include shuttle\/crew, documents, pharmaceutical, or parts distribution).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections<\/strong>, record defects, report maintenance needs, and keep vehicles clean and roadworthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Plan routes and meet on-time delivery<\/strong> windows; manage PODs, delivery notes, invoices and basic admin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Load\/unload goods, secure cargo, and follow company SOPs<\/strong> and OHSA<\/strong>\/road regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Provide courteous, professional service to customers, sites and internal teams; communicate delays or issues promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Adhere to site access, security, and dangerous goods<\/strong> procedures where required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements & Skills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

–Valid Code 10 (C1) driver\u2019s licence<\/strong> with PrDP<\/strong> (frequently required; some roles add DGP<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Clean driving record<\/strong> and sound knowledge of road safety and national traffic regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Experience:<\/strong> typically 2\u20135+ years<\/strong> as a Code 10 driver (some employers specify 3\u20135 years<\/strong>, splitter gearbox exposure, 8-ton truck experience, or sector-specific delivery experience).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Education:<\/strong> Grade 10\u201312 (Matric preferred).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ability to perform manual handling (loading, offloading) and basic vehicle checks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Professional communication, customer service mindset, reliability, time management and route planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Advantageous: knowledge of metro\/region routes; sector experience (courier, retail\/FMCG, auto parts, pharma, fuel\/lubes, aviation\/ground handling).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
