The programme equips learners with knowledge of pharmaceutical operations, stock control, script interpretation, customer service, and regulatory compliance within a retail pharmacy environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Employment is on a fixed-term basis until SAPC learner registration is completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Minimum Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Grade 12 \/ Matric<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pure Mathematics (minimum 50%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Life Science and\/or Physical Science (minimum average 50%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>South African citizen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clear criminal and credit record<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to pass a proficiency test for SAPC learner registration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support the compounding and preparation of non-sterile medicines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accurately pick, pack, label, and prepare medication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure all medication is checked and signed off by a pharmacist<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with stock control and monitor expiry dates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unpack and merchandise dispensary stock<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow up with patients regarding scripts and appointments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with scheme authorisations (chronic, HIV, oncology medication)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain dispensary cleanliness and adherence to SOPs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide basic health-related information to customers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Competencies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong communication skills (English and a second language)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attention to detail and accuracy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Time management and ability to work under pressure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Customer-focused with professional conduct<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Computer literacy and numerical skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teamwork and accountability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Advantageous:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Retail or FMCG experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unisolv, SAP or E-Scripting knowledge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Front shop pharmacy experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Special Conditions of Employment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must complete and pass the proficiency assessment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be eligible for SAPC registration as a Learner Basic Pharmacist Assistant<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Willing to work retail hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Remuneration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Market-related salary<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Structured workplace learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Opportunity for permanent employment upon qualification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Apply online via the official Dis-Chem careers portal for your preferred store location before the stated closing date.
