Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Table Mountain National Park is inviting applications for a Handyman<\/strong> to join its technical and maintenance team. The successful candidate will carry out semi-skilled maintenance tasks on infrastructure, tourist facilities, and equipment. Please note that no official accommodation is provided; the successful candidate must arrange their own accommodation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

-Perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks, including repairs, plumbing, welding, air conditioning and refrigeration servicing, electrical works, and basic civil works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Carry out routine maintenance on tourist facilities, staff accommodation, ablution blocks, administration buildings, and other infrastructure such as electricity, borehole pumps, sewer systems, and equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Assist with inspections of maintenance contractors\u2019 work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Record daily maintenance tasks performed and report on maintenance needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Transport equipment, materials, and staff while conducting vehicle inspections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Assist with planning, scheduling, and execution of technical tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Order stock and assist with supply chain processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain housekeeping standards and perform other ad hoc tasks identified by the supervisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Support general administrative tasks, including stock and inventory records, time sheets, log sheets, leave forms, and month-end reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minimum Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

–Grade 12 (Matric)\/NCV Level 4 or equivalent.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Trade Certificate in Electrical, Aircon, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Carpentry or related fields<\/strong> is an added advantage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Valid driver\u2019s licence<\/strong> is essential; PDP will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Minimum 3 years\u2019 practical experience<\/strong> in a technical\/maintenance field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment repairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Basic administrative skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Good communication skills in English (written and verbal).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ability to work under pressure and in unfavourable conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Willingness to work weekends and public holidays as required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Candidates will be required to complete a practical assessment<\/strong> as part of the selection process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
