Overview<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

CJ Mining Holdings is recruiting a dedicated Environmental Officer to support its diamond prospecting operations in Ngope-Tsoeu (Roma). This role is vital in implementing and monitoring environmental management systems, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and promoting sustainability within the organization. The position is a 5-year contract, with a 6-month on-the-job training (OJT) program for new hires, making it ideal for motivated graduates looking to grow in the environmental field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

-Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems (EMS) in compliance with applicable standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and audits to assess risks and ensure compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Monitor and report on environmental performance, including air and water quality, biodiversity, and waste management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure compliance with environmental laws and permits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Deliver training and awareness programs on environmental topics for staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain and manage environmental records and documentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Investigate incidents and implement corrective or preventive actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Liaise with regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and NGOs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Implement waste management and recycling programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Manage hazardous materials and chemicals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Contribute to sustainability projects and initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Conduct site inspections and prepare environmental reports for internal and external stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements and Skills<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

-Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Sound understanding of environmental legislation and standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Experience conducting EIAs and audits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and environmental monitoring software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Data collection and environmental performance analysis skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
