Successful candidates will support ecological monitoring, environmental education, and facility-support functions linked to the Wilgenhof Environmental Education Centre, while upholding SANParks\u2019 safety and service standards. Candidates must provide their own transport and accommodation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conduct ecological monitoring and assist with environmental education activities and awareness events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help coordinate daily operations and task execution to ensure effective departmental functioning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plan and present environmental programmes for various audiences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare, organise, and maintain the Wilgenhof EE Centre facilities (dining area, kitchen, passages, ablutions, and surrounding open areas).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform cleaning and hygiene duties to prescribed standards; ensure kitchen, pantry, equipment, and storerooms are clean at all times.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with stock control of cleaning materials and consumables.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure compliance with SANParks Health &amp; Safety requirements and general programme standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support natural resource management tasks as directed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete timesheets, logbooks, reports, and other basic administrative records accurately and on time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform ad-hoc duties as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Requirements &amp; Skills<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minimum<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Grade 12 \/ NQF Level 4.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Outlook, Excel).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good physical health; able to perform field and facility duties.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and after-hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficient in English (written and verbal); additional official languages are advantageous.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No criminal record \u2013 valid SAPS Clearance Certificate required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic understanding of Health &amp; Safety principles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Own transport and accommodation (no staff housing provided).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Willingness to undergo a fitness assessment during recruitment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preference for local candidates; submit proof of residence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Advantages<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Certificate\/Diploma in Natural Environment or related field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Valid Code B (08) driver\u2019s licence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prior experience in environmental education, ecological monitoring, or similar community\/outreach work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Employment Equity<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SANParks is committed to Employment Equity.
