These field-based roles support conservation law enforcement, ecological management, fire management, and infrastructure maintenance across challenging mountainous terrain. Successful candidates must provide their own reliable transport and accommodation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conduct conservation law enforcement activities: patrols, monitoring, anti-poaching, and problem animal control by foot, horse, or vehicle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with infrastructure and environmental maintenance: fences, trails, roads, soil-erosion and rehabilitation systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain accurate incident\/sighting records and complete vehicle logbooks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support conservation operations as required, including clearing of invasive\/alien species.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with fire management (wildfire suppression, firebreaks, prescribed burns).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide support at the stables for horse-riding activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform other ad-hoc duties as directed by Corporals\/Section Ranger.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Requirements &amp; Skills<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minimum<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Grade 12 \/ NQF Level 4 (Standard 10).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physically fit and able to conduct extended patrols in mountainous terrain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and after-hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Valid SAPS Clearance Certificate; no criminal record.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Willingness to undergo a medical fitness examination by a certified medical practitioner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Willingness to undergo a fitness assessment during recruitment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Own reliable transport and accommodation (no staff housing provided).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Advantages<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s licence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Firearm competency in Self-Loading Rifles, Manually Operated Rifles, and 9mm Pistols.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficiency in additional official languages and strong communication skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Reporting<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reports directly to Corporals\/Section Ranger.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Employment Equity<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SANParks is committed to Employment Equity.
