Location:<\/strong> Various (Primary Business Unit: Arnot Power Station, Mpumalanga; placements may occur across all provinces, South Africa) Eskom is participating in the national Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative to help young South Africans gain meaningful first-work experience in the energy industry. Successful candidates will be appointed on a 12-month fixed-term contract<\/strong> within Eskom Operations (across divisions and provinces), developing practical workplace skills while contributing to service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n -Support day-to-day operational, administrative, or customer-focused tasks within the assigned function\/division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n -Maintain accurate records and assist with basic reporting as guided by the supervisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n -Uphold safety, compliance, and confidentiality standards at all times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n -Engage in on-the-job learning, coaching, and development activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n -Provide professional, courteous assistance to internal and external stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n -Participate in ad-hoc projects and team initiatives as required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n –South African citizen<\/strong>, aged 18\u201334<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n –Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent<\/strong>; a post-matric certificate\/programme is advantageous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n –Not<\/strong> employed permanently with one employer for more than 12 consecutive months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n –Not<\/strong> studying full-time<\/strong> during the 12-month contract period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n –Not<\/strong> previously registered\/participated in the YES<\/strong> initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Behavioural Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n -Integrity, professionalism, and customer focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n -Attention to detail and willingness to learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n -Reliable, proactive, and able to follow procedures and safety rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n -Effective verbal and written communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n -Stipend\/allowance aligned to the Eskom YES<\/strong> programme (market-aligned for entry level).<\/p>\n\n\n\n –12-month<\/strong> fixed-term contract with structured workplace exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n -On-the-job learning, coaching, and development opportunities within the energy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
