Overview:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

VKB Retail, part of the VKB Group, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter Assistant with experience in cabinetry and vanity work to join our Bethlehem team. This is a permanent position within the agricultural retail sector, focusing on carpentry tasks for cabinets and related construction projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

-Prepare detailed drawings for cabinetry, framing, and various construction projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Interpret client requests and provide mock-ups for approval before starting projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Build cabinets and other carpentry projects according to client specifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Frame room additions based on project requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Select and inspect materials for defects, ensuring quality standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Install cabinets, counters, and molding with precision and care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Follow all relevant code and safety requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

-Grade 12 or NQF Level 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in finish carpentry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Additional 1+ years\u2019 experience in rough carpentry is preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Extensive knowledge of power tools, including skill saw, mitre saw, and jigsaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Basic hand tools and reliable transportation to job sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Willingness to work overtime when needed to meet project deadlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ability to climb ladders and lift at least 36 kilograms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Knowledge of lumber grades and countertop materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Customer-focused with a strong service orientation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skills:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

-Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Strong analytical, numeracy, and interpersonal skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other computer applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ability to work independently as part of a team, taking responsibility for assigned tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
