Position:<\/strong> Casual\/Temporary Workers (Facility) \u2013 Fixed-Term Contract (12 Months)

Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) is seeking Casual\/Temporary Workers to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract at our Roodeplaat facility. In this role, you will support various field and facility maintenance tasks, essential to the success of our research trials. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience in fieldwork and general facility maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

–Field Preparation:<\/strong> Assist in removing irrigation pipes and preparing fields for research trials, including tasks such as weeding, planting, harvesting, and processing plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Infrastructure Support:<\/strong> Install and remove fencing, irrigation equipment, and assist with basic painting, plumbing, and general building maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Research Support:<\/strong> Aid with cleaning and maintenance around research fields, fences, glasshouses, and tunnels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Chemical Application:<\/strong> Perform chemical spraying around fences and buildings as required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Ad Hoc Duties:<\/strong> Carry out additional tasks as needed to support research operations and facility upkeep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

–Educational Requirement:<\/strong> Grade 10 with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Skills and Experience:<\/strong> Proven experience as a painter; capable of standing for extended periods; organized, neat, and detail-oriented in work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
