Phakisa Holdings is looking for experienced Code 14 Drivers<\/strong> to join our logistics team in Isipingo, Merebank, Umlazi, Wentwood, and Durban Central<\/strong>. The ideal candidates will be responsible for the safe transportation of materials, equipment, and personnel<\/strong> to and from various project sites. This role is critical in construction and engineering operations<\/strong>, requiring adherence to safety protocols, traffic regulations, and logistical efficiency<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Vehicle Operation & Logistics<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Operate Code 14 trucks<\/strong>, transporting construction materials, machinery, and personnel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections<\/strong> to ensure roadworthiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Adhere to road safety and traffic laws<\/strong>, ensuring compliance with national and local regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Follow set routes and delivery schedules<\/strong> for efficient logistics management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain accurate logs<\/strong> of travel times, fuel consumption, and materials transported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loading, Unloading & Maintenance<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Ensure all loads are securely fastened and labeled<\/strong> in compliance with safety regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Assist with loading and unloading cargo<\/strong> when necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Report any vehicle malfunctions, defects, or accidents<\/strong> immediately to management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs<\/strong> on vehicles when required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Keep the truck clean and well-maintained<\/strong> both internally and externally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction & Site Assistance<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

-Assist in the setup and breakdown of construction equipment and materials<\/strong> at project sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Work collaboratively with site managers and staff<\/strong> to ensure smooth operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Maintain a professional and safe driving record<\/strong> at all times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

–Valid Code 14 driver\u2019s license<\/strong> with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Minimum 4 years of experience<\/strong> driving heavy vehicles<\/strong> (preferably in construction or engineering sectors).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Matric \/ Grade 12 qualification<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Strong knowledge of road safety regulations, vehicle operations, and logistics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Experience with transporting heavy construction equipment or machinery<\/strong> is advantageous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Familiarity with local routes and construction sites<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ability to work flexible hours<\/strong>, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Attention to detail<\/strong> in vehicle inspections and load management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Basic mechanical knowledge<\/strong> to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Clean driving record<\/strong> with no major infringements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
