Overview

Health Systems Trust (HST), in partnership with the Youth Employment Service (YES), is recruiting 25 unemployed youth to gain hands-on workplace experience while supporting day-to-day administration and other activities in HST programmes and offices.

Positions & Centres

• HSS – uMgungundlovu District (19 posts): Maguzu, Howick, Mpophomeni, Caluza, Mpumuza, Pata, Eastboom, Masons, Central City, Imbalenhle, Impilwenhle, Snathing, Gcumisa, Appelsbosch, Richmond, Ndaleni, Gomane, Bruntville, and Mooi River Clinic.
• Corporate Services – Durban (6 posts): HR, Finance & Administration departments (Westville office).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide front-office and general administrative support.
• Assist with filing, data collation, meeting logistics and document control.
• Support programme teams with routine operational tasks and community-facing activities where required.
• Uphold confidentiality, professionalism and HST values.

Requirements

• Age 18–35, currently unemployed, not studying full-time, and not receiving any government grant (includes NSFAS and disability grants; excludes Social Relief of Distress grant).
• Matric certificate (Grade 12).
• Strong interest in gaining experience in the health sector; willingness to learn and follow instructions.

Remuneration

• A stipend/remuneration package aligned to the YES programme and HST Job Grading System will be offered.
