Overview
Transnet Corporate Centre and Academy is offering a two-year Young Professional In Training Internship Programme for dynamic and recently qualified graduates. The programme is designed to provide structured workplace learning, mentorship, and exposure to real business operations, enabling graduates to gain relevant experience while contributing to South Africaโs largest logistics and transport company.
Programme Deliverables
As a Young Professional in Training, you will:
- Shadow and learn from experienced staff members.
- Participate in workshops, meetings, and structured learning sessions.
- Communicate with customers, ensuring their needs and queries are handled effectively.
- Support with research, administration, and general business functions.
- Execute project tasks individually and collaboratively.
- Deliver quality work outputs that contribute to client-focused solutions.

Young Professional in Training:
- Environmental Management โ Diploma/Degree in Environmental Management or related.
- Health & Safety โ Diploma/Degree in Safety Management or Environmental Health.
- Finance โ BCom in Finance / Cost Management / Internal Audit.
- Human Resources โ Diploma/Degree in HR Management.
- Data Science โ Degree in Data Science / Statistics.
- Digital Marketing/Communications โ Diploma/Degree in Digital Marketing or Communications.
- LLB โ Degree in Law (Corporate and Governance).
- Financial Information Systems โ Degree in Financial Information Systems.
- Internal Audit โ Diploma or BCom in Internal Auditing/Accounting.
- Business Development โ BCom Honours in Marketing, Economics, or Logistics.
Work Integrated Learning (WIL):
- Technical / Engineering: B Eng Tech or S4-S5 completed coursework in:
- Electronics/Electrical (Heavy Current) Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Physical Metallurgy Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Non-Technical (TVET): Completed N6 in Office Management, HR, Marketing Management, Logistics, or Communication.
- Non-Technical (University of Technology): Completed Diploma theoretical subjects in IT, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.
Requirements
- Relevant Diploma or Degree as per the internship category.
- Recently qualified graduates.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Commitment to completing the full 24-month programme.
