Overview
Kruger National Park is seeking two (2) General Workers to join the Technical Services Division at Orpen Rest Camp. The successful candidates will assist with various maintenance tasks and general duties as part of the camp’s upkeep. These positions report to the Camp Maintenance Officers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in carrying out maintenance work in areas such as general building repairs, civil works, plumbing, fencing, carpentry, and roadworks while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Support material stock control, record-keeping, and ensure good housekeeping within assigned work areas.
- Perform driving duties as required, including transporting equipment, materials, and staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized working area, workshop, and surrounding environment.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining swimming pools.
- Remove unused or waste materials and ensure proper disposal.
- Perform other general tasks as directed by the Supervisor.
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 (Matric).
- A valid Code 08 EB Driver’s License (advantageous).
- 1 – 2 years of proven basic and practical experience in a maintenance-related field.
- Technical training in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, bricklaying, or air-conditioning and refrigeration will be an advantage.
- Basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Ability to work under pressure and in challenging conditions.
