Overview:
Ligpos (Pty) Ltd is seeking a reliable and experienced Code 14 (EC) Heavy Truck Driver to join our agricultural logistics team in Cullinan. The successful candidate will be responsible for long-distance and short-distance transportation of flowers to various clients and markets, including trips to Cape Town. The role requires maintaining the truck in excellent condition and ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods. A high standard of road safety awareness and adherence to road legislation is essential.
Responsibilities:
-Operate a Code 14 (EC) heavy truck for flower deliveries to different destinations.
-Conduct regular checks and maintenance to ensure the truck is in optimal working condition.
-Complete delivery documents and ensure accurate record-keeping.
-Communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery schedules and requirements.
-Follow the designated delivery routes and schedules efficiently.
-Adhere to safety regulations and road laws at all times.
Requirements and Skills:
Critical Requirements:
-Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s license.
-In-depth knowledge of routes and road legislation.
-Ability to handle long-distance driving and extended hours on the road.
-Passion for truck driving and logistics.
-Experience in the maintenance and upkeep of heavy trucks.
Desirable Requirements:
-Previous experience in truck driving, particularly in agricultural product deliveries.
-Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
-High attention to detail and excellent time management abilities.

Specific Prohibited Aspects:

Work Environment:
This position involves transporting flowers within Gauteng and to destinations as far as Cape Town. It requires a strong work ethic and the willingness to work long hours, balanced by allocated off days.
Employment Periods:
- Start Date: 9 March 2025
- Position Type: Permanent (45 hours per week with 12-hour driving sessions)
- Temporary Position: Available, mainly Monday to Wednesday mornings (27 hours per week).
Compensation and Benefits:
- Monthly salary, based on experience and qualifications.
- 2-bedroom housing with electricity and water included.
- Leave entitlement: 1 day of leave for every 17 days worked.
- Sick leave: 30 days in a 3-year cycle.
- Notice Period:
- 1 week if employed for less than 6 months.
- 2 weeks if employed for more than 6 months but less than a year.
- 4 weeks if employed for longer than a year.
