Overview:
Nthane Brothers is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanic to join our Maintenance/Workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery, including yellow plant equipment from leading manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Mercedes-Benz, Bell, Komatsu, and Volvo. This role requires expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repairs
-Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections on yellow plant machinery.
-Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults on heavy equipment.
-Conduct troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to minimize breakdowns.
-Overhaul engines, transmissions, differentials, and major components.
-Ensure proper calibration and alignment of equipment.
Workshop & Field Operations
-Conduct field repairs and attend breakdowns in remote locations when necessary.
-Maintain accurate service records, job cards, and maintenance logs.
-Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures during repairs.
-Provide technical support and mentorship to junior mechanics and apprentices.
Parts & Inventory Management
-Identify and order required spare parts and consumables.
-Ensure proper use and care of tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop resources.
-Maintain stock control of workshop inventory and assist in procurement planning.
Compliance & Safety
-Adhere to occupational health and safety regulations in the workshop and field.
-Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe working practices at all times.
-Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
Requirements & Skills:
Education & Qualifications
- BTech in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience
–Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a mechanic specializing in heavy equipment maintenance.
-Proven experience with Caterpillar, Mercedes-Benz, Bell, Komatsu, and Volvo machinery.
-Hands-on experience in diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and transmissions.
Age Requirement
- Between 35 and 50 years old.

Preferred Additional Qualifications (Advantageous but Not Mandatory):
-Certifications in Caterpillar, Komatsu, or Volvo equipment maintenance.
-Experience with computerized diagnostic tools for heavy equipment.
–Valid driver’s license (preferably Code 14) for on-site operations.
Work Environment:
–Workshop and field-based operations, requiring travel to job sites.
–Exposure to harsh weather conditions, noise, and heavy machinery.
